About falls cove camp

In 2019, the Falls family began searching for a year-round mountain or lake house near Greenville, SC. After exploring various properties, they discovered the former Boy Scout camp on Lake Lanier. After touring the property, they immediately envisioned it as a place that would serve as a weekend getaway for family and friends. However, they knew it would require significant renovations.
Piedmont boy scout camp
The Piedmont Boy Scout Camp (PBSC) originally opened in 1925 on Lake Lanier, South Carolina. Up until its closing in 1981, it was highly regarded as one of the best Boy Scouts of America (BSA) camps in the southeast due to the help of former Army lieutenant R. M. “Bud” Schiele as the Scout executive of the Piedmont Council.

Lake Lanier near tryon, nc
Lake Lanier is a private lake that sits just below the border of North and South Carolina, located in Landrum, SC. It was built in 1925 in an effort to attract tourists to buy lots and build homes. Many acres were given to the Boy Scouts of America’s Piedmont Council to establish a summer camp in the area.
