In the 1930s, Bud Schiele began to create films of life at Piedmont Boy Scout Camp. These films, narrated by himself, showcased camp culture and the many activities and skills that the Scouts were mastering. These films were shown to communities such as civic groups and churches in order to “promote interest in supporting the Scout movement and the camp” (Hamrick 35).
